Michele Pezzicoli, Arceno’s Vineyard Manager, has been with Arceno since 1995. He is originally from Apulia, where he earned a degree in Agriculture Studies from the Institute of Agricultural Technology at Cerignola,and later worked at several respected wineries before moving to Chianti in the 1980s. Prior to joining Arceno, Michele spent four years at Felsina, one of the finest houses in Tuscany.
Wine is Michele’s passion, and he takes special pride in producing elegant, well-balanced, full-bodied reds. His winemaking philosophy centers on capturing the unique characteristics of the land in every bottle. He sees the world of wine as one that is continually evolving; every day he strives to discover something new and interesting while still being respectful of the historic and cultural roots of the area. At Arceno, Michele oversees all of the viticultural programs including planting, farming and harvesting. He has been instrumental in developing and implementing the sustainable vineyard programs employed at the estate.
Michele lives in nearby Rapolano Terme with his wife and three children. When not in the vineyards of Tenuta di Arceno he can be found cheering on his favorite sports teams.
